Darth Vader Prize in Every Box
We actually gave this Darth Vader toaster to Veronica and Brian last year for Christmas (2019) and we asked them if we could borrow it for our Star Wars Christmas.
Love the Darth on every slice.
How about some Darth Toast with Raspberries and Raspberry Jelly?
It’s sugar free-eeeeeee. 🙂
Actually, a lot of the Star Wars mugs and plates we borrowed from Veronica and Brian.
Just help yourselves.
Actually, for this Star Wars Christmas we ate BREAKFAST all day long.
And why not? Isn’t Christmas about excess? Indulgence? Sweets?
Hence, our many Star Wars BREAKFAST’S for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.

C3PO AND R2D2
A long, long, long time ago, (back in March 2020)
in a home in Florida during lockdown due to Covid 19,
there was a family named Whann,
Gordon, Julie, Brodie Whann Kenobi, and his girlfriend Mackenzie.
The month was May and the Whann’s still had their Christmas decorations up from last November 2019 for some strange reason.
Julie was browsing around Ebay looking for CLUE board games to give as gifts to their daughter Veronica and her husband Brian, as well as one for Brodie Whann and Mackenzie, in order to have something fun to do during lockdown, when she suddenly spotted this vintage Star Wars CLUE board game. Julie quickly squealed with delight and pressed ENTER in order to BUY IT NOW!
Julie then informed Gordon, Brodie Whann, and Mackenzie that they were all going to enjoy Christmas over again as they are to have….
A STAR WARS CLUE FOR CHRISTMAS!!!! (In May)
The Story Begins……
My name is Julie and I am the mastermind behind most everything that we do. (Although I’m pretty sure my family doesn’t use the word ‘mastermind’ to describe my ideas. They are more panicked as to what in the world I have in store for them to do?) We were very lucky during the pandemic lockdown and we all recognize that. Gordon was able to work from home, Brodie and Mackenzie didn’t have the worries that most young couples had to face, and therefor we could all enjoy our time together and the fun things that we did. Veronica and Brian were also o.k. as well. But our thoughts were always with the people that were suffering either with the illness, or because of the illness. We celebrated Christmas in May because one thing the pandemic taught me is that you never know when it may be your last, and because I live for this life, I wanted to enjoy myself. Also because we hadn’t taken our Christmas decorations down yet from last Christmas. Either way, what I’ve learned is that I should probably write my own obituary when the time comes because I don’t think they will do me justice. 🙂 (Shhh…. Just don’t tell them that.)
Merry Star Wars Christmas!

Our Star Wars Christmas Gift Basket
(It’s truly out of this world!)
This was all sort of thrown together at the last minute as a gift to our daughter and son-in-law.
They are huge Star Wars fans! As it was I was buying up Christmas themed cutting boards online to give as gifts when I saw this galaxy one. It just screamed out as something that Veronica and Brian would love so I ordered it for them. The empty Light Saber was something that our son Brodie had throw away and I saw it and dug it out of the trash, cleaned it up, and I knew it would somehow fit in with this gift, I just didn’t know what to do with it at the time.
The crackers, cheeses, mustard’s were all things that we knew that Veronica and Brian wanted. But, it was while we were going through our kitchen renovations and having to clear out so many cabinets and drawers, that I came across some old Star Wars cocktail pics of Darth Vader and the Storm Troopers. Also, some glow sticks, and I think I hit the jackpot with a bag of Light Saber party pics that I included here as well.
The Light Saber of Sausage Balls
Sausage Balls are a huge request of our daughter every year so I placed a few here for Brian and put the rest in other containers so that they had plenty to enjoy.
P.S. They LOVED it! 🙂
And Speaking of Brian…..
We found this Storm Trooper Decanter and Glasses that we knew Brian would love.
The Cocktail though is all Ours!
Half and Half Hazelnut Liquor and Screwball Peanut Butter Whiskey with a Death Star Ice Cube.
The Gift of Cake
It is a simple gift to buy a ready made cake from your local grocery store or bakery, perhaps even add a bit of your own ready made frosting and then top with those special adornments.
Perfect for dessert at the end of the day or to give as a gift for the Star Wars fans in your life.

And let’s not forget a fun game of CLUE throughout the day.
The Darth Vader was an old drink cup top that I placed on a candle so it looked like Vader was overseeing the game. I also placed a light stick in his hand to look like a saber.

Our Episode One Darth Maul Cocktails For Adults

My Japanese Robe
Trying to emulate Queen Amadala’s Japanese inspired wardrobe from Episode 1.
My favorite of the franchise. Well, that one and Episode 5.
Above I am toasting to Episode 1 with my Amadala Nubian Cocktail:
The Amadala Nubian
With Star Wars Ice Cubes
(See Cocktail Recipe Down Below)
You can also immerse yourself in all things Star Wars by going back to the beginning.
You know, as in Episode 4.
The Making of Star Wars
And Now For The Making of….
The Amadala Nubian
1 Cup Crushed Ice
1 1/2 Cups Orange Juice
1/2 Cup Simple Margarita Mix
3 Tbsp. Rose’s Grenadine
2 Shots Bacardi Limon
2 Shots Bacardi Dragonberry
3 Shots Aperol Aperitivo
Add your crushed ice to a large Cocktail Shaker then add your orange juice.
Now, add your margarita mix.
Then add your Grenadine …
and your Bacardi Limon…
then your Bacardi Dragonberry…
and lastly your Aperol.
Place the cap onto the cocktail shaker and vigorously shake until it becomes almost to cold to handle.
The day before, we filled a number of these great Star Wars ice cube molds with water and allowed them to freeze. You can do this days ahead of time.
Here is the Death Star
Place a large ice cube into each Rock Glass as shown.
We borrowed the Ice Cube Molds from our daughter and son-in-law.
Now, pour the Amadala Nubian into each glass and enjoy!
Here, we basically followed the directions on the package, which worked great!
As you can see, the grits are more purple in color than blue.
Empty the dry grits into a large plastic bowl with water and gently stir. The main part of the grit will sink leaving the husks to stay on the surface.
Using a mesh scoop, remove the floating husks on the surface of the water. Place a lid on the grits and let them soak at least 24 hours.
Carefully strain out the water. You can do this by pouring the grits into a clean dish towel. This is what the grits look like after soaking.
In a large pot, place ~ 5 cups water and 1 cup half-and-half and heat to medium heat. You can also use milk instead of half-and-half.
Now, add your soaked and strained grits to the pot.
Cook the grits on low heat until tender and most of the liquid is absorbed. The grits will become thick over time (about 30 min. or so) which you must stir them occasionally. I used a rubber heat resistant spatula to ensure I moved all the grits from the bottom of the pot as I stirred them. This will prevent them from burning and that they cook more evenly. Cook the grits until they are as thick and creamy as you like, remembering as the grits sit, they will continue to soak up more liquids. Add a good helping of butter and salt and pepper to taste.
Mackenzie’s Chocolate Cherry Cordial Cookies
(For the Cookies)
1/2 Cup of Butter
1 Cup of Sugar
1 teaspoon Rum Extract
1 1/2 Cups All Purpose Flour
1/2 Cup Cocoa Powder
1/4 teaspoon Salt
1/4 teaspoon Baking Soda
1/4 teaspoon Baking Powder
1 Jar Maraschino Cherries without stems (reserve the juice.)
Ingredients for the Icing:
The Juice of the Jar of Maraschino Cherries from above. About 1 Cup
1 Cup Confectioner’s Sugar
1 teaspoon Rum Extract
Granulated Sugar for Dusting
(I’m told by Mackenzie that this particular list of ingredients will yield about 25-30 cookies.)
Cream together the butter,
and Rum Extract.
You need a mixer for this.
First use a low setting to just blend all the ingredients together and make sure they are incorporated well.
Now it’s time to add the flour,
Mackenzie Checking Her Recipe
Add the Salt and Baking Soda, and Baking Powder.
Now you want to mix everything together with your mixer.
This is a very thick batter.
You want to drain your jar of Maraschino Cherries and remove their stems.
(Save the juice.)
Take about 1 teaspoon of the cookie dough in your hand, roll it, and flatten it,
and then place a maraschino cherry into the center with your hand.
The press the dough around the cherry so that the cherry is snugly inside.
Here Mackenzie is rolling them in granulated sugar,
and then placing them onto a baking sheet lined with Parchment Paper.
Preheat Oven to 350F
Bake for Approximately 9-11 Minutes
When done remove the cookies and allow them to cool on a rack.
Now To Make The Icing
Simply mix together the Maraschino Cherry Juice, the Confectioner’s Sugar, and the Rum Extract.
Mackenzie is showing you the consistency that you need,
something a bit thick.
Here she is drizzling the icing over the cookies.
Make sure you have some parchment underneath so as not to make a mess.
The icing will harden.
These cookies were beautiful and delicious!
And I loved that little cherry on the inside.
A Long Time Ago In A Galaxy Far, Far, Away Breakfast Casserole
This recipe is enough to make two 7 x 12 casseroles.
NOTE: We found there was a bit of watery liquid under the eggs once the casserole was finished cooking which we believe came from the Asparagus. To stop this, roast or grill the asparagus first before lining it in the casserole dish.
~30 Asparagus – enough to line the bottom of your two casserole dishes
10 Deli Sliced Ham Slices – Diced
1/2 Cup Swiss Cheese – Grated
1/2 Cup Extra Sharp White Cheddar
1/2 Cup Sharp Cheddar
~6 Cups Milk
2 Tbsp. Sweet Onion – Diced
1 Tbsp. Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 Tbsp. Whole Grain Mustard
11 Large Eggs – Whisked
Freshly Ground Pepper to Taste
1/2 tsp. Fine Himalayan Pink Salt
Various Breads – Pumpernickel, Seeded Rye Swirl, Naan, Whole Wheat….
Here we used the various breads and a round cookie cutter to make these planet designs. We borrowed our daughters toaster to make the Darth Vader toasted bread slices. The bread does go on top but we were just experimenting here with how we wanted it to look.
Prepare your asparagus by cutting off the woody end, usually about 1-2 inches above the root end. The fresher they are the less you will have to cut. Some people also break them at the end as the firmer woody section will naturally break off.
First use a Cooking Oil Spray on the bottom of the casserole dishes.
Line the bottom of your casserole dishes with the asparagus. Chop your deli ham into large dice sections and divide it evenly on top of the asparagus.
Now, grate your Swiss, White Cheddar, and Yellow Cheddar cheeses evenly over the ham.
Place your milk in a large bowl and add your whole grain mustard.
Then add your chopped sweet onions to the milk.
Drizzle some extra virgin olive oil on top of the cheese in the casserole dish.
Crack your eggs into a small bowl or use the measuring cup as I did to ensure you don’t have any broken shells in your casserole.
Whisk your eggs into the milk.
Add your cracked pepper and salt to the egg and milk mixture and whisk to combine.
The Casseroles are Now Ready for the Bread
Add your combined bread slices to the top of each casserole in any design you desire. If your casserole dish is big enough you could design a solar system. 🙂
Now, pour your milk and egg mixture over the bread slices until they are almost submerged.
You Can See The Chopped Onions On Top
Here, we needed a bit more milk and egg mixture and thought of the Blue Milk Luke drank that we had leftover. Simply add a few drops of food coloring to the milk and eggs. That will turn it whatever color you like.
Pour the eggs and milk over the bread.
Bake the casserole in a 350’F oven for about 45 min. or until the eggs are firm. We used a cookie sheet under the casserole just in case there were any spillage.
Slice, Spoon and serve!
No Recipe, The Bacon Stands Alone
We just followed the package instructions.
How About a Game of Star Wars Chess?
And a Cocktail……
Our Darth Maul Cocktail
In the pictures above, I made an enhanced version of a Bloody Mary. I used the pictured ingredients (celery salt, lemon juice, hot sauce, V8 juice, and Worcestershire sauce to enhance the flavor of the Mr. T’s Mixer. You can place the horns on the glass for a great look which is described below.
This other drink is made in two parts in order to get the separation of the black and red colors.
Ingredients: For 1 Drink
1/2 Shot – Cinnamon Schnapps
1 Shot – Pomegranate Liqueur
1 Shot – Dragonberry Bacardi Rum
1/2 Shot – Grenadine Syrup
2 Shots – Smirnoff Vodka
1 Drop Red and Blue Food Coloring
Star Wars Episode 4, A New Hope
Pour your Cinnamon Schnapps into a shot-glass, then into a Shaker.
Pour your Pomegranate Liqueur and Dragonberry Bacardi Rum into a shot glass and then pour them into the shaker.
Top each glass with two red peppers that have the stem and seeds removed, Slice into the stem end of the pepper about 1/4 inch so the pepper can sit on top of the glass as shown.
Now, add your Grenadine to the shaker.
In another bowl, add your Smirnoff Vodka.
Then add your Blue and Red food coloring.
Mix the Vodka and food coloring together with a spoon.
Place about 5 ice cubes into the shaker and top with the lid. Shake the mixer for about 45 seconds, and pour evenly into each glass.
To obtain this layered effect pictured above, place a tablespoon upside down just into the red drink and have the tip of the spoon touching the glass.
Pour the food coloring and Vodka mixture directly onto the spoon SLOWLY. The Grenadine make the first part heavier/has a greater density than the Vodka, which is why the two alcohols aren’t mixing. If you poured the Vodka in first then added the Part 1 mixture, the two drinks would naturally mix together. All alcohols have a specific weight/density to them which can be found at: https://bartenderly.com/tips-tricks/alcohol-density-chart/

Merry Christmas From Us
I think it’s about time to go to bed. We’ve had such a big day. Let’s have sweet dreams of Jedi and Princess’s and The Rebellion, and heroes. And let’s not dream about the Empire, The Sith, or The Emperor and his Storm Troopers.
